Local hardware stores (including the big guys) carry metric parts with metric instructions. This requires the right metric bit unless a bigger, sloppy hole is okay. In my case, I was trying to install 15mm cam screws to hold pieces of a bed together. This required a 15mm Forstner bit which is available nowhere but online. I bought this set just for that bit, hoping the other bits would be useful as well.

As I also used 3/8" hex head bolts with 1" washers, I needed to countersink the washer and nut combo to make it flush. My 1" SAE bit was too tight. The 26mm bit in this kit was perfect. I plan on using the 35mm bit for some concealed hinges on my next project.

My only complaint with this set is that the bits are not quite as sharp as they could be with what looks like small chips on the edges, but I didn't want to spend $550 for some of the German sets I've seen. Overall, using them in a drill press with even pressure worked quite nicely and did the job I needed.

Note: When are we as Americans going to get with the program and go metric so we don't have to buy two sets of everything?

Probably the best forstner bit set I own although for the life of me I can't find what steel these are made from.....Carbon...HSS....I know they are not carbide.....no information on the well made heavy duty case or on the bits either. I hate when all information is not available including where they are made. There is no made in country imprint so they are made in USA? I would think they would be proud of that fact and let you know.

I apologize to the makers of this drink for saying this, but it is just not good. At all. To be honest I think it tastes curiously like mouthwash. I can't really get past that and enjoy it. It's almost like mint tea that has waaaaay too much sugar in it or something. I am a HUGE fan of Synergy/GT's Kombucha, but I thought I'd try this because it's slightly cheaper. I have to say that the Synergy is well worth the extra $12 per 12 bottle case (I purchase the cases at Whole Foods for $35).

Even if I could get past the minty mouthwash taste, I still have to question the health benefits of this brand of Kombucha given the ingredients list. It reads: Lightly carbonated water, sucrose, herbal tea blend, Kombucha cultures, lactobacilli, acerola juice concentrate. You don't even get to kombucha until the fourth ingredient - and that comes after water and sugar?? One can drink seltzer water with sugar and "herbal tea" for much cheaper than $23/12 bottles. Seriously. Spend the extra few bucks and buy the Synergy, whose ingredients are as follows (this is for the "Trilogy" flavor): 95% GT's organic raw kombucha, raspberry juice, lemon juice, fresh pressed ginger juice, and 100% pure love.

Bottom line, if you want mint soda, then by all means, seize the day. If you want real, raw kombucha with health benefits AND a delicious taste, go for Synergy/GT's Kombucha.

I've been buying these filter elements for several years for my under-sink unit. They aren't cheap - $30 at Home Depot. There is a cheaper FXUTC element you can buy for the same filter housing. Seems it's all about the difference in the filtering specs, and I guess I am a sucker for the "isn't your family worth the extra cost?" trip.
Another reviewer pointed out that GE sells a version 2 and these are Vers 1. I happen to have a label from a vers 2 element I bought before, and I compared them. The specs on the Vers 1 label are actually lower (better) than the Vers 2. Not sure if that means the Vers 1 elements are better, or if just the performance has been more accurately characterized on the Vers 2 label.
Anyway, I am happy to pay less here on Amazon than buying them at Home Depot.

It would be helpful if the seller was up front with this information so the customer can decide if they are OK with an older model. The current version is FXULC (ver. 2). GE didn't help the situation by using the same part number -- with the "ver. 2" added afterwards. So if you want the latest version of this filter then purchase it elsewhere.

have been using it as a swaddle cloth and baby loves it. also great for cold weather, use this and add a blanket on top to keep the baby cozy. only problem is this cloth has to be washed in cold water & requires additional laundry load.

Absolutely love these. When my baby was first born I tried to buy a lot of organic items, but the problem was they didn't hold up well, and were not soft. These are great for throwing over stroller for shade during the summer, or as a light wrap for baby. They are so soft and get softer with each wash. I love these! I would definitely recommend!

Got this for Mom's kitchen. She wanted an oak wall-mount paper towel holder, and this looks nice both in the pictures and when we got it. But...there is no dowel to run through the paper towel tube. Instead, it is spring-loaded, and there is about an inch of wood on each side that is supposed to hold the towel roll. You are supposed to pull out the handles on each side and then slide the towel roll in; the handles are supposed to spring back into place and hold it. The problem is, the handles don't pull out far enough and there isn't room to easily slip the towel roll into place. Mom has arthritis, and couldn't even pull the handles apart. So we tried to do it for her...and the entire knob assembly on one end came off. We are buying an oak dowel to use to hold the towel roll in place...very poor design.

I was looking for a paper towel holder I could hang from my cupboard. There were already holes on the side of the cupboard so my husband just stuck it in there. So it is hanging vertical on the cupboard. I am sure it would work just as well underneath the cupboard too. Holds the paper towels well.
